Finland’s Airfix Aviation to receive early Gulfstream G650

UPDATE 12/09/2012: Registration for G650 msn 6006 is now known to be OH-GVV.

Long term photo contributor Bob Holland has had his detective hat on, uncovering a photograph of a Gulfstream G650 in what appears to be the standard scheme that all recent Airfix aircraft deliveries have been wearing.

The snaps below, taken by FlightAware user Joca Barbosa on a recent visit to Gulfstream’s homebase of Savannah Georgia, show G650 msn 6006 / N606GD wearing the same scheme as Airfix Dassault Falcon 7X msn 66 / OH-FFF, as well as recently delivered Gulfstream G450 msn 4243 / OH-GIV.

Compare the shot above to the photo below that Bob took in Geneva of G450 OH-GIV and you’ll see that the schemes are identical.

Finish charter and management company Airfix have 2 Gulfstream G650s on order, both of which are believed to be within the first batch of aircraft due to be delivered. However, as of the 5th of September 2012 Airfix haven’t contacted the Finish civil aircraft registry authorities to reserve a registration for either aircraft.

Gulfstream are currently riding high after successfully gaining full type certification for their new $24 million super mid-size G280 and are working hard towards receiving the much prized G650 type certificate before the end of September.
